| Global Links Initiative's BIG news is the launch of our new website! We very much hope you enjoy the new format - even if it might take a little while to get used to the changes!
We have rearranged the site structure and hope that you will find it easy to navigate once you have got used to where we have put everything! The best thing to do is to take a look around by clicking on the words in the green navigation bar which appears at the top of every page. If you would prefer to have a quick overview of 'what is where' in the new site, please click on the Help link to the right of this page - or on Help in the green navigation bar at the top of every page. You could also click on Site Map for a full listing of all the major areas and information on the site - again this can be found in the green navigation bar at the top of each page. We will be adding new features over the coming weeks, such as discussion boards and facilities to post reactions to Inspire stories and Share articles for GLI registered Networkers. Watch this space! In the meantime, if you want to read what Networkers posted in the Guestbook on our first website click on the Guestbook link on this page. New areas of the site added recently are:
We would like to say a big 'thank you' to Axius Consulting Limited and to Zair Al-Beyerty, in particular, for voluntarily providing us with both the technology vision and our website for the first two years of our existence. This help has enabled us to establish ourselves successfully and quickly. Additionally the website has proved remarkably robust-it never had any downtime- and has been the key to our ability to develop our vision further. We wish Zair and Axius significant success in future and believe their use of open source as a means of breaking down digital barriers, and in particular helping developing nations, deserves such success. We would also like to thank Baigent and Rob Drury, in particular, for their work in designing the new site for us and in helping us prepare and publish the content. Your patience and support is very much appreciated. |
