First Book - a Gift for the Future

The mission of First Book is very simple: to give children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books. According to the research of First Book, 61 percent of low-income families in the U.S. have no books for children in their homes, and over 80 percent of childcare centres serving low-income children lack age-appropriate books and other print materials.
