My Story - of bonded labour in Tamil Nadu 
A very moving story and detailed information from Muthulakshmi who we met at the GLI seminar in Chennai. The issue of bonded labour is especially poignant now with the two hundredth anniversary of the abolition of slavery in the UK.

SKID - Women's Empowerment
Skill for Development (Skid) was founded in 1993 at Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. Skid's main objective is women's empowerment and children's welfare.

Community Development Organisaiton Trust
C-DOT has initiated community rehabilitation, community health and capacity building programmes such as vocational training and skill building among the marginalized and neglected in tsunami affected communities in the north of  Chennai especially women, adolescent girls and children.

We are delighted to announce our partnership to deliver basic healthcare, hygiene and environmental education to women, children and grass roots community organisations in Tamil Nadu.

5th Networkers' Salon in Shanghai
On 29th April 29, GLI China hosted the fifth networkers' salon at East Nanjing Road Community Center. 12 members including 7 networkers attended from enterprises, NGOs, social enterprises and universities. The guest speaker was Mr. Huang Qi Jun, the Founder and the General Manager of
Mopa Housekeeping Service Company.

The non-profit site 'Blog Meets Company' (Natsuko Hirota, Representative) was born in February last year. The site gathers eco-friendly proposals from citizens, which are then considered by private companies.

New GLI Networkers
We now have 660 networkers from 46 countries and as we have said before, every Networker is equally important to GLI. Here is a selection of what some of our very latest  Networkers to sign up say about themselves. Yet again this reflects a great and healthy diversity of interest in caring about making this world a better place for others. We continue to be very happy that we are linking so many people from so many different countries showing they care passionately about others. We are sorry that our success does not now make it practical to list below every new networker, but it is now much easier to see them all on our website.
