Global Links Initiative

News

Would you like to be part of Global Links Initiative's small UK-based team?

Three years on, Global Links Initiative is now linking nearly 700 organisations and people in 46 countries. It is a small 21st Century organisation dedicated to making a really positive difference to disadvantaged people around the world.

While definitely Global in outlook and purpose, with small teams in China and Japan, it is a charity registered in England and Wales and its Trustees are based in the UK. As such, it has need of a small and committed UK-based team of both volunteers and paid staff.

The team will always stay small compared with many other organisations but the Trustees have decided that it is now timely to expand and to change roles within the team.  As a result GLI now has the following opportunities:-

  • English Language Website Editor - approx 30 hours a month
  • Accountant/Treasurer - up to 10 hours a month plus an extra 30 hours once a year
  • Note taker and Minute writer for the six Trustee meetings a year.

The most important attributes we need are belief in what GLI is doing, the enthusiasm to be part of a small dedicated team making a difference, and the ability and time to do the work.

We are a "virtual" organisation in the UK working on and through the website from our own homes communicating regularly with each other, GLI team members in China and Japan and with our global Networkers and partners via email. Each of these roles could suit a volunteer or someone who needs to be paid part time, and they could suit an active and energetic person of any age.

If you are interested in hearing more about these opportunities, please contact our Chairman Robin Rowland by email.
