| Global Links Initiative is now UK Registered Charity no 1110013
We are pleased to announced that the UK's Charity Commission has registered Global Links Initiative as an official UK Charity. They have acknowledged that our remit is worldwide and they have agreed that our official objectives are:- In short, this means we cover education/training, relief of poverty and economic/community development/employment. Our remit is truly global and we will do this, as we are already doing, through advocacy/advice/information and by acting as a resource and umbrella body. Of course, our supporters and members are the ones who can do most to actively help us make a real difference as we believe we have already started to do. So in many ways the words are not as important as the will and determination. We hope many of you who read this will join in with us and tell us your inspiring stories for the benefit of others. I continue to personally believe that 'what can be imagined, can be achieved'. We are also delighted to announce that Jim Baker MBE has joined us a Trustee. Jim is best known for a range of inspiring and effective socially entrepreneurial projects he has done much to implement in Whitehaven, some details of which can read in our Inspire stories. |
